The Circuit

Formula One was a welcome addition to the Miami community when it first appeared on the calendar in 2022 and was another feather to the city’s bow in terms of world class sporting events to take place in South Florida.

The circuit is the 11th different track to have hosted a United States Grand Prix, with Watkins Glen currently holding the record for most races held with 20.

The Hard Rock Stadium, which the track winds its way around the outside of, is also the home of the Miami Dolphins NFL franchise.

While Formula One in Miami aims to bring excitement and energy on track, it hopes to leave a lasting impactful legacy to the surrounding community off it. The Miami Gardens Parks and Recreation Department have teamed up with F1 in Schools STEM Program, working with local children from the community to improve youth education in Miami Gardens, while all track action will take place out of school hours.

Formula 1 simulated 36 different track iterations before settling on the track layout for the inaugural race.

The 5.41km (3.36 miles) layout features 19 corners and three DRS zones and will be dismantled in the weeks following the race to return the Hard Rock site to its everyday appearance.
